You need to really absorb the first sections of the book to figure out the full meaning and unravel the plot.

Iste bu klasik Saramago. L’autore entra spesso nella storia in prima persona, per spiegare al lettore le sue scelte e commentare gli avvenimenti, in un modo estremamente gradevole. After obsessively viewing dozens of other movies by the same production company, he nose results by discovering his name.
What is so brilliant about Saramago is he does not spell anything hombde directly. And the translator must be a genius with words because translating a book where you have to dig up “persipacity” is cuckoo bananas.
